T Shirt Painting & Stencil

Aktiviti T- shirt painting ni memerlukan kesabaran sebab paint yang digunakan agak pekat. Walaupun bentuk yang diwarnakan nampak mudah, tapi ambil masa dan kena lebih teliti sebab kena minimizekan kesalahan… jadi aktiviti ni di buat untuk mereka yang dah berpengalaman buat painting. Kalau di Art-Venture Kids’ Studio, kami buat dengan mereka yang berumur 9 tahun ke atas.

Just lukiskan bentuk yang nak diwarnakan di tengah2 t-shirt, bahagian bawah tu jangan lupa dialas dengan cardboard. Make sure permukaan t-shirt tu tegang dan rata. Kalau nak buat border, boleh gunakan tape supaya tak mewarna diluar kawasan.

Selain dari painting, stencil is another technique we tried in Art-Venture Kids’ Studio. Cuma perlu lukiskan gambar yang nak distencil tu guna kertas keras atau beli stencil yang dah siap je kat kedai. Make sure permukaan rata & tegang. Tapekan stencil supaya tak bergerak2. Lepas tu boleh guna sponge atau brush untuk ratakan warna diatas t-shirt. Processnya lebih kurang jer dengan painting, cuma lebih mudah sebab cat tak mudah terkeluar dari kawasan yang nak diwarnakan…

Jar Cap – Paper Mache Bear

Project menghias penutup balang ni pernah disiarkan dalam Art-Zooka kat tv, satu masa dulu. Dalam episode tu dia buat kucing menggunakan sisa2 dari washing machine, as wll as paper mache technique untuk bahagian muka.

The girls prefer a bear instead. Tekniknya sama, guna newspaper, tapes, acrylic dan sedikit cardboard untuk membentuk bahagian telinga bear. Ooops, jangan lupa balang – boleh beli kat kedai – RM1 – 2, tak pun recycle je lah balang kuih yang kita selalu guna time hari raya tu..

Firstly, buat gumpalan membentuk separa bulat dengan suratkhabar lama, lepas tu lekat kat bahagian atas penutup balang. Potong cardboard membentuk telinga bear & lekat kat tempat sepatutnye. Balut dengan tapes elok2 atau kalau boleh sabar, buatlah tampalan guna tisue paper – tapi kena tunggu kering baru boleh go on to the next step.

Dah siap, lukislah rupabentuk muka bear – mata, hidung mulut dan mula mewarna. Kalau susah nak mewarna, bahagian mata – maklumlah permukaan tu mungkin tak rata, lukis cardboard berbentuk mata, tampal kat bahagian berkenaan. Hidung dan mulut tu boleh guna permanent marker je..

Siap dah, varnishkan dia.. supaya lebih comel..

Apa kata raya tahun ni kita buat fesyen macam ni pulak untuk balang kuih raya??? Asyik ropol2 jer.. tukarla style.. hehehehe…

SEA TURTLE FROM PAPER PLATE

Nothing can go wrong with paper/plastic plate.. all you need is a bit of imagination…

The project is inspired from an article in a daily, about a group of traveler whom while travelling, manage to do some “save the environment” activities with the local people at places they visited. Among the project is teaching the local kids about saving the turtle – and to make it interesting, they made a sea turtle from paper plate.. I decided to adopt the project, but in the studio instead.. so no real sand and sea as the background:-(

All you need is a paper/plastic plate, acrylic (if you use plastic plate) or watercolor, glue, scissor, wiggly eyes and drawing paper or cardboard. Just draw a random design of the turtle back on the plate. Draw the head, tail, hands and legs on the drawing paper and cut them out. Paint them with green and a bit of brown. Once dried, glue the body parts accordingly. Don’t forget the wiggly eyes!

But at Art-Venture Kids’ Studio, that not all…

We’ve done a bit more by painting an undersea view on a big paper. Just paint them blue with some plants and other sea creatures. We use a special roller to create the wavy pattern, and the kids looooove the roller sponge! Once finish, just let the kids play with their turtle – swimming around the sea.. whoosh! whoosh! whoosh!
